Need help

Have a cocketeil starts going on peoples heads. When you try to take him off he bites and get angry. I have to hide to leave my home. He picks on my neck. He wants to go with me everywhere but refuses to go into a cage for traveling. I thought when I bring my friends dog over my home when my friend is travel. My bird is afraid of the whipet. I thought is would be the other way around. He has to parakeets who is not as friendly as the cocketei. Does anyone know how to help me with the cocketeil to change his ways? email irenelieber@msn.com

If his wings are not clipped then they should be clipped until you can work with him more. Also, don't let him on your shoulder, this is a dominant position for birds. As for flying on your head, if his wings are clipped he can't get up there. When you take him down, put your hand in a fist to have him step up, that way he can't get a good grip to bite. Also, put him right in his cage if he is being bad and try and limit the out of cage time for awhile until he can learn some manners. If his only way to freedom is through you then he should learn pretty quick. Birds and dogs should NEVER be in a room together without the bird being in a cage.
