Does he have enough "destructible" toys (wood, paper, rope, straw)to explore his need to chew and shred? Sometomes the better made acrylic and plastic stuff don't cut it for this, although all my birds do have some. Also, instead of trying to make him stop or encouraging it, do something completely different with him to distract him. Is he comfortable on his back? Lay him on his back and tickle his belly and feet or let him hang upside down off of your finger and swing him gently back and forth (above something soft in case he slips), works for my Amazon and both Senegals. Although, if he doesn't like the back thing, it may lead to a harder bite! Hope I could help and good luck w/ your Sun...by the way, we all want some pics!
