We have a house guest! Diego the GCC!!

While NikiAndBeyond is spending a semester out and about across the country working on her degree and all that important life stuff, we're taking care of her yellow-sided GCC, Diego!!

Scarlett and Diego both had to get their yearly tests done a little early to make sure everyone is safe, but I don't think they know that the two events are related (yet!)

We'll be posting pictures as soon as we get the internet set up at our new house (Oh, the joys of moving into a new construction!)

Diego is a lover, and wants to preen Scarlett and love her and hang out and share the same food bowl. Scarlett's a little set in her ways, so she's not so sure about any of it - so they have to be far enough apart where no accidents can happen for now. But the little stubborn redhead has been at the edge of her cage/playtop/whatever she's on closest to Diego, talking to him, and watching him for the past two days. She's still not so sure about close encounters, yet.

Diego has his own room for now to keep the four-legged creatures from staring at him all day long while we're at work. They're not used to LITTLE birds!! But, they're quickly discovering that this little green, yellow, and red thing still has a beak, just like that big red monster in the living room. Both dogs have already decided they're petrified of him. Both cats are deciding very quickly that he is highly uninteresting. As we knew they would.

Just wanted to share the fun news!!! We're using this as a trial period to make sure that my little neurotic redhead will tolerate another bird before we actually go out and get another. So far, so good!! We know it doesn't guarantee she'll accept every bird that comes into her home, but at least we know she won't immediately try to kill every bird that comes in!!

Wow, you've got a pretty full plate right now.

I can't wait to see the pictures. Diego sounds like a great little guy.
