most likely nothing, but many folks prefer to drink filtered water, or buy bottled. Many times there are odors or particles in water supplies that won't hurt you, but just make you uncomfortable drinking them.. I drink cold water from the tap, but also have a brita water pitcher in my fridge..the fids get the tap. Here in my city, there are areas of town where the water lines are so old and deteriorated, that citizens have resorted to drinking bottled water because it just doesn't taste good, smell good, or they are afraid of what may be in the water...ever hear of a 'boil water' order in your town or a neighboring one? This is because somehow the public water supply has become contaminated..usually with e-coli bacteria...it will take a few days for the lines to clear out, so you must boil your water before drinking it, brushing your teeth, washing dishes, etc...

Just comes down to a preference thing, that's all, but sometimes it can also be a safety precaution.

My fids prefer their water cold; and if I add ice cubes they love it! We have no health issues here as far as the water, but in some areas, Lissa is correct; the water is cloudy or just plain unsafe for our use, much less our fids!

I grew up on well water and absolutely do not trust the public water system. The town next door to us had a public water system and often times there were boil orders in effect due to bacteria in the water. Since then I refuse to drink public water, and I refuse to let my birdies do the same. We both drink bottled water. I have heard that chlorine may be a potential health hazard, but I'm not sure where I read it or just how reliable that claim is. So don't quote me on it. Plus, I'd rather be safe than sorry!

As far as water temp, I honestly don't think they care. Buddy always likes to take a sip as soon as I pour fresh water into their water cup and their bath tub, but other than that, they don't drink more or less water at any particular temperature (although they only seem to bathe in water that's a little cooler than room temperature...never did understand that!). I suppose to them, water is water!!

Ours do not care. I just serve the water air temp from the bottled water. Our well water has a high iron content and we and the bird do not drink it because of the high iron content (within permitted legal standards), so we drink bottled water.

The colder the water, the more likely mine are going to take a bath in it. Don't know why, but they love it cold.

My birds get bottled spring water, room temp. I buy the big jugs that go into a dispenser. I stock up when I get visitors with a car and we happen to be going near a store that sells it. It's a bit awkward to take in the "Limo" (commonly known as a bus) I also don't trust the chemicals added to water (and the ones that are already in there from our pathetic treatment of the environment). Bird are sensitive to that kind of junk and they are so long lived I think the chemicals build up in their systems.
