Wild Birds Hitting our Window.

I am looking for some ideas on what we can do to the outside of our windows to keep wild birds from hitting them. We live on 5 acres on the western slope of the Washington Cascades. We have a 2.5'wide X 6'high X 5'long finch aviary that we can move from inside out to the deack on nice days. We also have an african grey that sits on her tree near the finches when we are home.
I think wild birds see them through the window and think its just more woods to fly through. The aviary has about 25 finches in it. Wild birds include small perching birds, but we have also had a young hawk and a small owl both hit the window twice. I think the bigger birds may have bee after the aftrican grey.
Any ideas?

Colored tape on the window would help but I think it would be very unattractive. How about those little stained glass things you can hang from suction cups--they'd be decorative and maybe the birds would see them and not fly into the window?

I've heard of bird stickers that people put on windows to stop this from happening. I'm not sure where you'd get them. Just whatever you can put on the window to make it look less like an open space.

We had the same problem at the house I grew up in: we had mirrored tint on the outside, which reflected the lush greenery and 7 Magnolia trees in the backyard. Once we replaced the windows, we never had the problem again.

Put up a large silllouhette of an owl(on the window), that ought to do it. Birds as a rule are frightened of owls as they are predatory. You can also put decals on the windows so birds know it's not 'air'.
