Cheep Easter Toys for Parrots

Quick, Cheep Easter Toy

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Okey dokey, peeps. Here's a quick and easy Easter present for your birds.

You will need a toilet paper tube or paper towel tube.
Tissue paper
Tiny toys and treats, pretzels, nuts, dried fruit
Raffia

Simply insert some treats, nuts and tiny toys into the tube. Lay the sheet of tissue paper (good way to use up the wrinkled stuff) and roll it around the tube a few times.

Twist each end like a salt water taffy.

Tie with raffia. If you have small birds, omit the raffia. Miss Lily then embellishes ours with Easter stickers. Fun project for the family.

You can also us a little Dixie cup instead of the tubes.

HAPPY EASTER, PEEPS

Thanks for the idea!! I'm gonna try this one out!! I just ordered a couple toys for Willow yesterday but they probably won't get here untill after Easter. I think Willow will like this idea...but I think Mango will be scared of it...o well it's worth a try!!

Thanks Nancy, that's a great idea! And if someone has a really small bird like my SKye, you can just wrap those things up in tissue paper, roll it a time or two between 'gifts' and then tie it as suggested. I know Skye wouldn't chew up a paper cup or tube...but paper, yes.

Thanks for the idea!! I made a few for Willow and used tissue paper to wrap treats for Mango. Willow had a lot of fun with the first one (out of 3...LOL she's taking her time). Although she had a little too much fun with the cup and the tissue paper and totally missed the treats inside lol! Mango is curious yet cautious about his and picked it up a few times but hasn't gotten it open yet.
