Peregrine falcons in Harrisburg
Yesterday we finally went out to the state museum in Harrisburg so mom could see their Smarty Jones exhibit. And while it it very nice of the Chapmans to put all of Smarty's trophies and other memorabilia on public display, that wasn't the highlight of the day for me. But what could possibly be more exciting than seeing a large, solid gold Kentucky Derby trophy?
How about that pair of peregrine falcons nesting a few blocks away? There was an article in the paper about a week ago about it, since the PADEP recently reactivated their live camera feeds. For anyone else who's interested, the DEP has a site for their peregrines here. If you have RealPlayer, you can watch the live feed from the 4 cameras set up around the nest box. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm sure looking forward to watching the eggs be laid, brooded, hatched, and the babies raised over the next several months.

Here's another Peregrine Site
It's at the top of the Kodak building in Rochester, NY. They're raised close to 30 babies there in the past few years. http://www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQueri...equestid=45278
