Plant Poisoning

My Amazon Maya in about 20 seconds tried to eat a Peace Lily leaf. Off to the the vet. An after hours visit no less! Activated charcoal and lots of fluids later, she is resting in her night cage. I will watch her for a couple more hours, but hopefully the carbon did it's job or she did not ingest much of the plant.

20 seconds is all it takes to make it across the "forbidden" zone, and eat a toxic plant.

I will be replacing the lily with a ficus tree I think. It of course was my only toxic plant, there were a ton of edible safe plants nearer to her. She had to go for the bad one!

Thank goodness I caught her in action! Naughty ME!

I'm so sorry to hear about that incident. It is amazing. Just like kids they find the no no area and go right for it and get into trouble. I'm glad you caught her so quickly and were able to get treatment quickly. Hopefully she is better this morning.
