Depending on how acclimated your birds are to the outdoor temps should determine at what temps you offer that option.

All of my birds prefer cool showers, but then they also require a bright sunny window to sit in front of as they dry off. I've notice the occasional shiver (LOL).

Wild birds can be seen bathing in melted snow, but they are use to extreme temps. No so your garden variety pet macaw. I would assume that temps would have to be AT LEAST 65 to allow them to stay outside post shower.

However, if you keep you bird inside at a comfortable 70 degrees, then bring them in right away to dry out.

Casey LOVES bathes, whether they are spray bottle mists, a dunk in the water bowl or a nice shower of rain! Noel occasionally (though not frequently) enjoys a rain bath but does not care for any other unless maybe a dunk of the head (only) to get a nice wet head and the entire area wet!!! The budgies enjoy water dishes, misting, and the rain. The bourkes normally only care for the rain type though occasionally have been noted on one or two mistings...

Most birds prefer cool or cold water temps though some may prefer warmer temps and others may not care much... Some birds enjoy baths with ice in their bathing water!

[COLOR=Blue]Birds I've had also preferred cold water to bathe in. As for outside, if you are comfortable, then they should be too as long as there is no wind or constant breeze. It doesn't need to be 80 to take them out, 60's is ok. But I'd have him on a secluded porch or something to be sure of no draftiness. Drafts run a birds system down very fast and illness can occur quickly.

P.S. I am assuming you don't mean bathing him outdoors now do you? I didn't get that impression, but wanted to be sure.
