He Loves Me....He Loves Me Not

Oscar is a confusing bird LOL He was caught outside, dont know if he had gotten away or if somebody let him go, but I took him in the hope of retaming him (which I dont think is possible anymore). But what gets me about him is this...

I go near his cage and he goes bollistic, he is VERY territorial about his cage, even when he knows Im giving him food and water. I dont give him treats as he wont eat any human food at all and Ive tried just about everything with him. He is scared of human food for some reason. But he wants no part of me at all, even when he's away the from the cage and he will do a step up but once i do that I have to sit perfectly still or he hisses...BUT...

If I walk away from him he is fox whistling at me, blowing kisses. He doesnt want me talking on the phone as he will screech and squawk the entire time. And if i go anywhere, he will squawk and call for me the entire time Im gone. And I mean loud you can hear him at the street. Even if Im in the other room and he starts calling for me, once I call out his name he stops or when I come home he stops.

So I dont get it...does he like me or doesnt he?? And any suggestions as to what else I can do? I sit and talk to him for lengths of time, I take him out of the cage (using a spare perch for step up) and I rest my hand against the cage and dont move it so he can see I wont hurt him (was told to do that too). part of me feels I should maybe find someone that he seems to connect with isntead of keeping him if he's not happy, but not sure if he's happy or not, he sings to his bell on his toy, and he is making some kind of noise almost all the time, otherwise he is sleeping. He is nothing like Petey, who is always playing with toys and peeping and answering me when I call his name.

I have tamed birds before, ones that nobody else could get near or touch, so I do know what and how to go about it, just Oscar seems so different from any bird Ive ever met.

Ok Im done typing now I promise LOL but any suggestions would be wonderful. I have been around a lot of birds and could get a feel of what they liked and didnt like but it is all just a mystery with Oscar.

Good Greif, I have no idea LOL What a little personality. He sounds happy, maybe that's just who he is.

what i find is helpful with the step up is if his wings are clipped, when he hisses do the laddering game. when hes on one hand then tell him to step up to the other hand then the other and repeat if he hisses and bluffs continue it shows ur in charge and he dosent get what he wants do it 10 times give him a treat and put him down on a stand. give him maybe 5 minutes then repeat. the better he gets at it the longer u can do it for. but if he dosent do it on command then he dosent get a treat. he only gets one if he doset perfectly. this works with me and petrie.

Well the thing with Oscar he wont eat treats, the only thing beside his food he eats is millet, and he wont take anything from my hand at all. I have worked with him endlessly but he just wont cooperate. makes me wonder how he was treated by his previous owners ya know.
His wings are clipped, so he cant fly, but if he is on my finger and I try to get him on my other finger, he not only hisses, he snaps at me trying to bite.
There are only 2 things I dont like about him, the fact that he doesnt allow me to talk on the phone LOL and that he doesnt seem to want to be retamed.
But boy does he love to get showered with blown kisses if Im across the room LOL and he loves the water bottle. He is a very strange bird, Ive never dealt with one that was like him. he's my weirdo and I loves him hehee
