Darn you CT92... I thought something happened to Petrie!!!!! Do not scare your Aunties like this!!! LOL

Why don't you alternate them. Keep say seven in at a time and every week change three of them. If you can rotate them, they kinda think it's something new each time... What was favorite and then got old is suddenly new again.... I have about two cage changes of toys (for each cage) that I rotate. Sometimes you can even change the places they are in the cage...

Yes I agree, sometimes rotating the placement will entice them again.

Youngin I swear dont you ever do that again, with that subject line, I rushed in here like HollyHawk did thinking something happened to Petrie. LOL
And let out a huge sigh of relief when I realized it wasnt something bad.
Yeppers moving his toys around will help, my little Petey destroyed both of his toys but he still plays with the chains and left overs constantly, thank goodness, dont have the money to get him any new ones just yet LOL but he is getting a playmate this weekend.
I switch out toys with Oscar and Petey once in a while, until they were destroyed.

Sometimes you can look for things around the house. Bits of string, the cork from a bottle or go to the craft or $1. store. I picked up a whole package of little foam things and strung them on some recycled bird toy wire with bits of raffia from another "recycled" toy and they thought it was great.

I've often read that 'tiels aren't hard-core players like other parrots are. Which is nice, b/c they don't destroy toys quickly but it can worry their owners!

You make all sorts of toys using bird-safe pieces. I know that Pickle (and Beetle before him) love veggie-tanned leather strips knotted around pony beads or alphabet blocks. You can buy little plastic letters and animals shapes to use as well. Whiffle balls: string pieces of leather or paulie rope through the holes and knot the excess around beads.

Check out sites like Greyfeather Toys, Chopper's Toys, CA Bird Nerds, etc. They have ALL sorts of toys and you can get ideas for your own there :)

whoa, melodrama~
10 toys? take some out, and then start rotating them once or twice a week. Maybe he isn't even bored of them! My tiels don't play that much, mostly they forage and play with each other. One bird can be lonely, toys can't always replace what they naturally do in the wild - which is hang out in huge flocks and have flock related activities all day... and such. lol

Yep, I agree with rotating them.

Also, we always keep an eye out at the pet stores for clearance toys (but mostly because we live 3 hours from the nearest Petsmart/Petco LOL) and we stock up on them and rotate them; especially for our CAG. My male goffin will just go to whoever's cage has the toy he wants to play with at that time and plays away LOL
