Wink 2 free greys?

This lady emailed me (in a response to a web ad that I had about adopting parrots) and asked if I wanted to take her two greys for free (if I come pick them up.) I said yes. She said they talk a lot, but they are noisy, and it hurts her grand children's ears or something like that... Once again, the fids lose to the real kids!

I hope it does work out. I'm skeptic, since I'm used to getting all those sloppy, horrid grammar letters from people in Cameroon, claiming that if I wire them money, they'll give me a cheap bird.

If this happens, I'll be one happy girl!!

Fingers crossed. There are a million scams out there, but also a lot of folks who are at their wits' end and just looking for a safe loving home for their birds.

Good luck!

Good things do happen. About a month ago, I was emailed and asked to take in three birds due to a move and the gentleman called today to set it up for us to pick them up! We were skeptic as well but couldn't be happier that we get the chance to take in these guys!

if you are going to visit them, bring someone along, and make sure she is sure no adoption fee. Also, make sure there is paperwork written up in regards to the adoption. even if you do it, and have her sign it.
good luck.

Oh, I hope this isn't a scam! It actually sounds real, in my opinion. Any update?

OMG I am so stoked to give an update, I only wish this comp had a USB port so I could upload pics!! They are sooo adorable, I'm glad they made the 3 hour trip home okay! They seem so much happier now. Ellie, the girl, she laughs, burps, sings and dances (do do doooo! lol) and she says so many things, hello, love you, good night, good morning, see you later, be quiet. And Kato, the boy, he speaks in a guys' voice -= and I was wondering, do greys know to do that?? If they are a boy, to speak like one?? haha!! Also, I was wondering if anyone can help me with Kato's behaviour, he seems rather aggressive and tries to bite the step up stick most of the time. Should I be trying to handle him with my bare hands instead? :o Ellie steps up fine most of the time. I think it's been over a year since they'd been out of the cage, now they are out until bedtime~! This is a crappy computer at a copy centre and my time is up, but I am SO happy my dream has come true to own these beauties! Y'all have no idea, since I was 14 my dream was to own a grey! And they are everything I thought they would be, intelligent, watchful, comedians. Ah I love them so much already it seems too good to be true! Cant wait to post pics, hopefully soon!
