SUCCESS!!!!:dance:

I showed my mom the cage on windycityparrot that i wanted and she asked me if they had more than one in stock, i said they usually always have some in stock. then i told what color i wanted(black) and she said she wanted white because poop does not show up as well on white. Then she said we won't get it untill after the DC trip in january. So she wants it, but it's not time to get it. I finally got her converted to a bigger cage. and bigger cage means more toys/perches, so that takes care of itself. now to let her know that birds cannot eat only seeds but is better to be fed pellets. it's a long process, nagging does not work with my mom so i have just keep repeating the message when she brings it up(which is when we are in a pet store) and find a great deal(like i did with the cage) and convice her to go the right way.
After convincing her to pellets, i'll work on natural wood perches,Manazita or whatever it's called and a thermo perch as we don't use the heating in the winter to save money. She does not want info overload so i have to break it to her slowly. Wish me luck

Mom's usually come around....
you can also keep your baby warmer in winter by keeping the cage half covered so they still get light but have extra warmth on those colder days.

No heat? Where do you winter? Couldn't do that up here in Canada...!!

no we have heat we just don't use it alot in the winter to save money. and it still gets below or near freezing in the Pacific Northwest. Expecting some ice storms for the next few years. thanks for the warmth idea, i was planning on a cover anyway incase my bird needed help going to bed and being quiet :P

Grats! Be careful on the thermo-perch. Some get VERY hot.

already warned about the thermo perch, i'll keep and eye on it, thats my fear is y fid might get burned from it, i wonder if covering it in some fabric will help forstall the heat if it gets too hot?

let me rephrase
Sun, Jenday, Red Sunday, Blue Crowned, or Green Cheeked
Might go for the blue crowned or green cheeked because dad does not like alot of noise
