Ive decided what i want to be when i graduate!!!!

An Avian Vet :D
but no seriously, i love birds and i would love to be an avian vet because it gets me around birds all the time, as well as entire flock of fids when i get my own place. At first i was gonna be general vet(dogs, cats, birds, reptiles) but then i thought, why i love birds, why not be an Avian Vet. and i could help out those birds who need a forever home.

My 13 year old daughter wants to be an avian vet too. Luckily we live close to UC Davis, one of the premier avian vet schools about. I hope you DO become an avian vet, we need you out there for us! hehe

Good luck!

When I began undergrad I wanted to be a vet. I, unfortunately, was not prepared for the vast world that is COLLEGE and I got swept up in the social side of school (i.e. frat parties, drinking, other stuff...) and ended up having to transfer back home and long story short now I'm an audiologist. I love my job...but being a vet would be better!

Do what I shoulda done 8 years ago: stay away from the booze and the opposite sex (or same if you go that way), go to class, buy your books, and pay attention in organic chem.

Good luck!

I'm a prevet student right now, it's tough work! Like they said above...LISTEN IN OCHEM! Also, get LOTS of experience-work with local vets, get internships, etc.

And save your pennies-school is expensive!

Yep, wish I had paid more attention in organic, but biochemistry actually has been more useful. It is a long road to finish a DVM and find a good residency in exotics/avian medicine, but I think it is well worth the effort (my doctorate is from a vet school, but in pharmacology not medicine). You keep working and we will keep cheering you on!~
