Black Capped Conure

I wanted to know how loud that bird is? Is it REALLY LOUD or just here and there? I live in apartments so I want to know before I go ahead and get one. Thanks in advance...

My black capped conure is quiet when she's with me, and quiet if no one is home. But if you are home and you haven't greeted her yet, she'll cause a fuss! When the cage is covered, the only noise she makes is this pathetic, quiet, squeaking/whining noise to tell us she's awake, but doesn't really want to wake any humans up if we're still sleeping. She has manners :). I'd rate her as pretty quiet.

She lives with 2 cockatiels, 2 budgies, a finch and a bourke's parakeet though, so I'm not sure how loud she would be if she didn't have anyone to hang out with.

Pyrrhura conures tend to be one of the quieter species of birds and thus usually make good apartment birds. I've heard a green cheek scream, and it *WAS* pretty high pitched, but it really didn't seem that bad... at least not compared to a sun conures scream!

Have you also thought about pionus? Or princess parrots? Jardines or even brown headed parrots and meyers are other birds that are said to be quiet.
