I love the smell of my tiels, especially the babies. I don't know why but the babies have a sweeter smell to them even though they are almost 8 months old. People always look at me like I'm nuts when I smell them. The funny thing is I smell Bugsy so much when he's on my shoulder that when I finish he will come over and bury his head in my hair for a second like he's smelling me, lol.
Monty smells like an amazon, not a smell that I like but I'm getting used to it now. His seems to be pretty strong no matter how much I bathe him. I can usually smell him from a couple feet away. I have heard people say that it smells like fruit loops and even the lady I got him from said that....where are they getting that from??? He doesn't smell like any fruit loops I've ever had!

Ellie, My U2 when I give scritches on her head, when done I will put my head down for her to preen my hair (she loves to do this) but instead I feel a little Talon on my head giving me scritches!!!

My B&G Tigo has a STRONG smell. My daughter says she can't smell it, but oh man, I can. To me, it smells like a trip down to Haight and Ashbury... At first, I figured her smell was mainly because she's truly my daughter's bird and my daughter can often smell 'off' lol and they're attached at the hip, but nope, she's just stinky.

My Hahn's all smell a bit like myrrh when clean, but when unbathed for a bit they smell like dirty socks. Which really sucks at times, of all the Hahn's that adore water, Pogo thinks water is the great enemy and it may not ever touch his body or ELSE!

My Conures all smell pleasant and are very sniffable! ...except Kiva, who for some reason smells like petrol! LOL He's got a squeaky clean bill of health, he's just got an odd smell.

My Pionus, I think, smell a lot like honeysuckle. Especially the BH's.

My Grey's smell like old talc. They do! LOL Lilly has a nicer smell than Izzy though, but that could be bias; Lilly's my baby girl.

My Sennies kinda smell like my Conures, you can bury your nose in one without asphixiating yourself.

I'm hand-feeding a Galah right now for a friend and OMG I could glue that bird to my face, it smells so nice. I think I'm going to steal this baby!! LOL

I'm working with a rescue Citron Too right now that smells a lot like Greys. Moreso now that he has his feathers back. When he was naked, he smelled like chicken. Ok, just kidding, he didn't. ...but I bet he'd taste like chicken! /ducks!

I know that if I ever get a big macaw again, it will definitely have to pass the 'sniff' test. I'm not sure I could handle two big stinkies! I'd love eventually to get a GW macaw, but I have yet to visit one to be able to sniff it. lol

Diddle isn't allowed to preen my hair anymore... he will sit there literally for hours pulling hair out by the roots, chewing it once or twice, and then tosses it aside in favor of a newer one. It gets to be quite painful LOL

Tuck Tuck is a good preener though, he will just gently move my hair around until he gets it in knots, usually around his foot.

My daughter has very long hair... or rather, DID have very long hair. She likes to play with the babies, and one day I heard "MOoooOoOOooommmmm! Help!". I go in and there she is, all alone, her hair writhing, and no green cheeked babies to be found.

... All 7 were in her hair. I had to cut out THREE of them they were so tangled up! LOL

Now see? I feel like I'm a blood hound or something. No one else seems to be able to smell this over-powering miasma that is my B&G! According to everyone else who owns Macaws, she smells perfectly normal and delightful! I am contemplating a gas mask...
