the different smells!!!

I have to say not that I have a U2, B&G Macaw, and now my Amazon they all smell totally different.

My too I have to say is my favorite to smell. But then when you do you look like you have been snorting (you know what) with all the dust! LOL

My macaw also has an odor. Stronger than my too.

Now since I have had my amazon for a week I have to say his smell is stinky!!! Showered many times, but I hear they have a stronger odor than other parrots!

LOL mmr, I have noticed this too.

I looooooove the smell of my G2's... that dusty smell is heavenly.

The B&G Minga smells weird... really hard to explain it. It's like dusty and fruity with a bit of stink mixed in LOL

My GCC has the tiniest bit of the dust smell.

Marti smells close to the G2's but not as strong, but still dusty.

The Amazons smell like stinky ferrets!! LOL No matter how much or what I wash them with, the smell stays. My husband always calls them "stink feet".

I honestly haven't smelled the keet or tiel lately LOL

I always thought my keets and tiels (when I was younger) smells like my too!

My too almost smells sweet and heavenly. Like a litle angel. My hubby can always tell when I am hugging and smelling her because I walk in with all white on my nose, chin and cheeks!!!


I have to say my ZON reeks! never knew they smelled that ewwy!

mmmm bird sniffers
we had a lengthy discussion about this on the quakerparrots forum
and we all decided we needed an intervention for out sniffiing addiction

boogie smells the best to me but thats because she was my first addiction and makes me feel all nostalgic about the first time i huffed her

wasabi doesnt have a smell to him *shrug*

and yes though it took me a while to get used to it, i love everything about the way chickie baby smells
even her breath :)

i hope to never get pulled over when i have her riding shotgun on my shoulder
as i am sure i have white stuff on my face
i can't see that going over too well LOL

Now that you mention it, I remember the tiel I had as a kid smelling just like the G2s with that dusty smell. I trick Diddle all the time and give him kisses on the top of his head just to sniff him LOL.

The zon's do smell quite strongly! I can't smell it if I'm not holding one of them but when I pick Alfie up and he gives me snuggles, it's really bad. We tried daily bathing to get rid of the smell but it just smells worse when wet LOL. I'm wondering if the white fronted zon we are taking in tomorrow will smell that strongly too... I guess he will since Tony smells the same and he's a different type than mine.

LOL the hubby and I were talking about this during the weekend! We had some friends over and they looked at us like we were nuts when they saw us kissing and sniffing Mr. We of course were like no he smells really good! We had them smell him and they were agreed he didn't smell bad but still looked at us like we were crazy until he gave them a kiss. I would say that it is a clean dusty smell mixed with a little bit of a baby smell I love it! <runs off to sniff bird>

lol what a great topic, Winnie ( who was my wifes baby ) smelt like seeds ,washing powder and lip balm. But my sun tic-tic always smells like toffeess, the two babies havnt a determined smell as yet , and if we could get close to either seymor or mary, im sure it would be the smell of fear

i love to smell josh, but not when he is just home from school
thats a dirty 'ive been playing all day' kid smell lol
i like it when hes all clean in the morning after his bath

and after hes been home a while he starts to smell more like 'josh'
so before bed i attack him with kisses and sniffles

boogie is molting right now and i was lurving on her earlier before i took josh to school and SSSHHHUCK
a little cheek feather went right up my nose and into the back of my throat
i had to hhwark it up like a loogie
