I think everyone who wants a pionus should get one, lol. He is sooooo quiet. I mean my tiels are noisy as can be and the loudest he gets is this squeal he does when he's happy and even then he's quieter than my keets.
He absolutely LOVES his baths. He hangs upside down on the cage with his wings out and even after the spray bottle is empty he will sit like that hoping I get more. He squeals the whole time too.
He tried to bite me for the first time last night. He had spaghetti sauce all over his cage and I took a paper towel to wash it and he puffed his feathers up and nipped me. It wasn't even hard at all so I don't think his heart was in it. He looked so cute all fluffy and annoyed, lol. He is definitely spoiled. He has so many toys in his cage and the only thing he still plays with are his wood foot toys. If it can't be destroyed or taken apart he wants nothing to do with it.
LOL, he just threw one of his blocks at me cuz I'm ignoring him right now. He's a stink sometimes but soooo worth the wait!!

His feathers are in such great condition, you're obviously taking very good care of him!
"If I can't see her, she can't see me!" is probably what he's thinking when he's hiding. :P

It's so funny cuz when you look at him, his feathers are not that bright at all. I need to try and get a pic without the flash so you can see what he "really" looks like. He is really forest green with a little dark bronze on his wings and dark blue on his head and chest. The first picture I took of him I couldn't believe how many colors he had, lol. I can't wait until his wings grow out again!
He just had a great breakfast of pomagranet and peas (he loves his peas). He gets so happy when he has peas he squeals the whole time he's eating them.

Re

What a cutie pie!!! A pionus is definitely on my dream bird list. My avian vet has a bronze winged that lives in the waiting room, and he is such a ham.

On-camera flash tends to really wash a subject out and does a particular disservice to Pionus, which have such subtle coloring.

When I'm out with my two, everyone always coos right away about how gorgeous Stewie is and I always want to grab them and say "Mika is gorgeous too, you just have to look at her!!" Nothing about Stewie is subtle, but Pionus are stunning in their own right.

Great shots of Monty!!
I agree...
IMO, Pionus are one of the best birds.

jenseits It's pretty hard NOT to admire a Sun .....but I agree with ya, Pi have an incredible array of colors!!! I love the transitions of colors of our Gracie.
White to steel blue at the head, those red butt feathers, then the red/blue/green of the tail and then the bronze to green to that electric blue on the wings -just awesome!

OHOHOH almost forgot...
In case you, and anyone else who LOVES Pi, didn't know it, there's now a large poster (23"x35") available with pics of 6 of the 8 species of Pionus.
It's available through from Pionus Parrot's Website
(That's a great site for Pi specific info too. )
