His feathers are in such great condition, you're obviously taking very good care of him!
"If I can't see her, she can't see me!" is probably what he's thinking when he's hiding. :P

It's so funny cuz when you look at him, his feathers are not that bright at all. I need to try and get a pic without the flash so you can see what he "really" looks like. He is really forest green with a little dark bronze on his wings and dark blue on his head and chest. The first picture I took of him I couldn't believe how many colors he had, lol. I can't wait until his wings grow out again!
He just had a great breakfast of pomagranet and peas (he loves his peas). He gets so happy when he has peas he squeals the whole time he's eating them.

On-camera flash tends to really wash a subject out and does a particular disservice to Pionus, which have such subtle coloring.
When I'm out with my two, everyone always coos right away about how gorgeous Stewie is and I always want to grab them and say "Mika is gorgeous too, you just have to look at her!!" Nothing about Stewie is subtle, but Pionus are stunning in their own right.

Great shots of Monty!!
I agree... IMO, Pionus are one of the best birds. jenseits It's pretty hard NOT to admire a Sun White to steel blue at the head, those red butt feathers, then the red/blue/green of the tail and then the bronze to green to that electric blue on the wings -just awesome! OHOHOH almost forgot... In case you, and anyone else who LOVES Pi, didn't know it, there's now a large poster (23"x35") available with pics of 6 of the 8 species of Pionus. It's available through from Pionus Parrot's Website (That's a great site for Pi specific info too.
