Fingers Crossed.... Today is the day!

Trying not to be too excited or nervous (but I am both) since we are supposed to go pick up Charlie the CAG and Rudy the WFA tonight. I got an email from Rudy's owner last night so I know that is a go... and Charlie's owner emailed me and said it was a definate go a cople of days ago but it's never real until you get them home! Going to be a long night though... 2 hours there then two hours home only to set cages up LOL and I know we're going to have to clean Charlie's because hubby told them they didn't need to do it since we would clean it again when we got home anyway. Rudy's is small enough that we won't have to take anything out of it and we're hoping to just slide Charlie's into the truck.

It's gonna be a long day... LOL We aren't even leaving until 4pm

A very long day and pics for sure!! Seems to be the first thing I do anymore (after setting up the cage of course LOL) is take pics to share here!

Thank you mmr. I always expect them to be evil little cusses! LOL I've noticed that people will make their birds sound better in the hopes that you will get them home before you realize they are evil, biting, little turkeys. We know that Rudy is cage aggressive but is supposedly sweet if you let him come out of his cage himself and hubby talked to Charlie's owner so I'm not sure if he has any issues other than this will be his sixth home and he was plucked clean between home 4 and 5 and is growing back now. Charlie's owner took him to the vet and feeds him Harrison's pellets so at least he sounds like he has been cared for.

Our trip home with Minga was looooooooud! LOL She screamed most of the way home; everyone else has been really good in the vehicle.

That makes a dozen fids... and the end of our rescue days at least for a bit. We've got a U2 that might be coming in as we agreed to take it in before these two... the owner wants to separate her male and female to separate homes because they fight... imagine that! LOL We're hoping to take in the male since he is only 4 but nothing is for sure yet and if either of the two coming tonight have any issues, we won't be taking one in at all.

LOL 12 indoor chickens... we have about 20 chickens and 3 ducks outside!

And it looks like it will only be 11. I just got an email from Charlie's owner and they have decided to keep him... or more likely someone offered them money for him. I am very disappointed but I guess it just was not meant to be.

Yep... I am trying to remind myself that it just wasn't meant to be but it is still a bit upsetting. As much as I try, I get excited and then heartbroken when this happens. Although we have been lucky overall... in the 9 that we have taken in, this has only happened twice. The last time it was with a Citron Cockatoo.
