Arrrgghhh some people make me so mad!!

OK... is this plucking?? Or molting as the owner claims...

Here's my problem. I saw this ad on CL yesterday and saw the pic and immediately thought plucking. Well last night before we left to pick up Rudy, I got an email reply from an ad I had on CL looking for bird cages offering me a cage with toys in it if we would find the tiel a home or keep it. So we said sure we can take it and when we called her an hour later, she said she had just talked to a 10 year old boy and if he didn't come on Sunday to get the bird she'd let us know and ask us to come back up to get the bird.

So we just let it go... I figured it was just someone else wasting my time. Well then I was sitting here this am (when the lady spoke to my hubby she said she had the bird listed on CL) and went back to see if I could find the bird and it was the same one!! She's selling this plucked bird (if it's really molt than forgive me but I don't think it is) for $100 to a 10 year old boy and how is he going to deal with the issues that made her pluck in the first place??

I just don't get it...

I used to have this button on my jacket when in high school that said "stupid people shouldn't breath".
There is a pet store here in town that has this beautiful african grey, they got him in from a owner that could no longer care for him. Well they could not sell him, so now he is a store bird. I am so sick with this because his cage is always dirty, and one of the last times I was in there, the manager had her hands in the cage & he bit her....so she grabs his beak hard and yells at him, "don't you bite me". I had to walk away, or I was going to go to jail for as they call it a ground and pound! Another time I was talking to another employee about how sweet I think he is & she said: I give kudoes to anyone that owns a grey because they are such a mean bird.I don't own a grey but this just really irritates me, these people are called animal lovers? I don't understand?

If I were you, I would call and ask her exactly what she is thinking selling that bird to a Kid. There is no excuse for that. Whats she going to do? Get mad and hang up on you? at least she would know what she is doing is unacceptable.

You are right, how dare her sell a 10 year old Child a bird with issues and plucking like that. I have a hard time believeing the parent would even allow that? maybe they don't know....

It is all about money to her! That is why she will sell it to a kid and possible bad home, but not for free to a great home.

It all comes down to dollar signs

Yeah, I think it's all about the money. She did not ask us for money, just wanted us to take the bird and when she found someone who was willing to pay for it, we were tossed aside. If it were a good home that could handle whatever issues the bird obviously has I wouldn't care how much they paid her but that bird obviously needs some help.

Here is what really gets me... this woman has an 11 year old son herself. I don't see how one mother could do this to another without at feeling guilty!

I do plan on calling her this afternoon and trying to talk to her... I doubt it will do any good but it can't hurt to try. The 10 year old supposedly has another tiel and I'm really hoping that maybe they just don't know enough about birds to tell that it's plucked and hopefully when they see it they will say no thank you if I can't get her to listen.

That poor little thing. That boy will have no idea what to do, hopefully the parents wont want the bird because hes half bald.
If I didnt know anything about birds and my kid wanted one I wouldnt let my son have one that looked diseased thats for sure.(unless they are gullible enough to believe thats molting)...
