classified ads on birdboard

I was looking at the classifieds and I noticed that there is very little info on the poster of the ad and it does not even tell what state the add is posted from. One ad was for 2 hyacinth macaws for free but no info on the poster. Is there a different way to find this info on the birdboards classifieds that I am not seeing?

I agree, it's a scam. Unfortunately, these people show up everywhere and give those of us who sell birds properly a bad name!

Please send any questionable links to a moderator and we will pull them or at least look into them. I know I don't get out there too often.

I also noticed several people selling unhatched eggs, I think that is just awful practice, is that legal? How do you find the info on the poster of these ads or where they are located? My husband and I new it was a scam, but wondered why there wasn't a way to flag the poster like on craigslist so the poster wouldn't be able to post such adds and just have reputable bird people be able to sell on a birdboard classified.

Unhatched eggs most likely equals infertile eggs... if they exist at all!

At best you can try contacting the poster and seeing if they are legit. On Craigslist, you can't stop a person from posting, but here on BB, we can make it so they can't!!!

The vbulletin system is set up differently then craigslist so that at this point in time you can simply go and send a PM to a moderator alerting about the potential scam. Its impossible for us to keep up with all ads posted, all the time. I know last night I went and deleted 20+ scams posted in the classifieds area... but scammers are relentless!
