Has anyone else tried "Shredders"?

We bought this 30 foot roll of palm tree shredding stuff that you can tie into knots or weave into the bird cage bars for the birdies to shred and it was an instant hit with Lilly. We are hoping it will stop her incessant chewing on her rope perches and wooden perch (all of which now need replaced LOL). Has anyone else had success with it?

My birds love those, and the big straw hats (99 cents at the craft store) but they destroy them in a matter of hours. I gave Monty a big hat and he had it down to nothing in about an hour but he's a big chewer. They do help keep them from chewing on things that they shouldn't or are more expensive to replace.

I have a bunch of shredders right now down stairs, I like it because I can incorporate it into bird toys that I make myself. For me though I only use it for my smaller guys, as the big guys either don't pay attention or shred it so fast that it really only keeps them occupied for about two minutes, lol.

LOL So far Lilly's is still there... she hasn't killed it yet.

KDK thanks for the idea about the hats... that's great!! I really need to get to the dollar store and see what I can find to get in trouble with there LOL

My tiel and gcc ignore it totally. My parrotlet likes it.

my lovebirds are totally nuts about it....it's relatively cheap and they love shredding it. Budgies could care less...but then my budgies aren't big chew fanatics.

I also pierce it through and through with a clip and put it in their cage....
