What would YOU want for Christmas?

My hubby gave me a choice between:

1) African Grey
2) Male Eclectus
3) Australian Shepherd (dog)

I have LOTS of experience with dogs and love them so so much, but don't have one myself at the moment and would love to get one!!

Pretty new to birds, I only got Rosie in June this year, but love her so much.. The only thing with birds is you can't pet them or cuddle them .. Well not Rosie at least lol..

WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

A larger cage for Cricket,
A quiet family dinner w/o my sister and I fighting and w/o having someone remind me i'm "fluffy" as if I didn't already know.
More toys for Ringo & Scarley & Cricket
An add on to my home that was turned into a sunroom just for my babies.
Yelp that will do it! hehehe

Santa to pay credit cards off
ton's of toys for birds
1 year's worth of maid service

But I know your question is on what we think you should ask for.

Since you like dogs so much and have experience...I would go with the dog. Positives of a dog over (lets say)the grey:
always happy to see you
not moody on certain days
aren't as messy
you can pet all and any time
take bye bye easier
lots and lots of wet icky kisses!
great companion for going on walks and jogs (if you do that)
very warm and snuggly on cold days (but then I see you live in Africa)

There are so many fids in rescues, that you can always get one later.

You mentioned you love dogs and have excelent experience with them, but you don't have one yet...

There you go. I think you already answered your own question!

Merry early Christmas!

Remember... dogs have down points.

They do not live in cages.
They need to go out to go to the bathroom. At 6am. In the rain.
If you come home late, they may have made a mess or destroyed something.
You need someone to take them if you are even taking a day trip.
Much less a mini vacation for the weekend.
Gods forbid you take a REAL vacation.
They go through a teething stage.
They need a LOT more training.
They need a lot more grooming.
They can INSIST on a lot more attention.
They cause more allergies.

Why not get a snugglier bird?

I want someone to come and do the bird room for me for Christmas LOL And I want Santa to bring Minga and Pedro a bigger cage and toys for everyone. Oh and I'd like Santa to bring me something NON bird related since for my anniversary this year we rescued a bird and then another for my birthday! LOL Darn gas prices anyway...

And this morning... a sock for Diddle's mouth because he's sitting here yelling at me to let him out!!

As for what you really asked... lol... I would beg hubby for all three LOL Plenty of shopping days between now and then to fit them all in!!

Lol that would be a dream getting all three..

I am leaning towards the dog, because Australian Shepherds are so awesome and yes I would love to take it for walks and to the beach and take it for training and cuddle...

I would love to have another fid, but maybe I should get the dog first and then see what happens lol..

You see I will only be getting the dog next year towards the end.. So it is a long wait.. So instead of saying yes for a CAG or male Ekkie this Christmas I think I must rather wait...

Plus Rosie is being so cute and all, just imagines she falls in love with the green boy and forgets all about us lol...

All are a good choice....so I would go to the local animal shelters and parrot rescues and see who needed me the most!
