Another question about my bird Joey

Joey out of the blue starts to flap his wings as if he's trying to fly but obviously with his wings clipped he does'nt. Not knowing if this is normal it almost looks like he is flipping out! He will go from one perch to another and stuff is flying everywhere and hear I am saying " chill out your gonna hurt yourself you nut " .

Any insight on this scary experience?

Thanks in advance!!!! :aiwebs_01

I ALSO PUT A PICTURE OF MY NEW FRIEND IN MY GALLERY! VERY COOL!

He's just excercising, it's something to encourage. My lovebird especially likes to do that now and again. I know it makes a mess but it's good for the bird.

Randy, it would be great if you could get him out of his cage. This way, he'll have more room to flap around and less of a chance for him to hurt himself.

Have fun with it!!!

It is normal behavior. All my fids do it. It is a way for them to exercise and stretch their wings. We call it the flap dance and they all do it at the same time around 10 a.m. and again around 3 p.m.

Yep, completely normal. Good exercise too. They sometimes can make a mess though. One of mine is molting now and feathers fly everywhere when he flaps.

lol.

First time my bird did it, I thought he was having a seizure or something. lol.

My bird does it mid day on top of his cage now, and he is also molting, so I get little feathers goinng every where! lol It still looks funny!
