Is Pine a Safe Wood For Birds?

I know this is probly a stupid question but I am honestly confused. I just got home from taking Rex to the Bird Groomer. I thought that pine was a no no wood but she told me that it was a safe wood? I am so confused. One thing I did find out after she done his tallons, wings and beak is that he is such a clamer bird after that. Today was the FIRST Time I got to CUDDLE with him it was awsome. I was so surprised and excited about it. I can't wait to show my husband that we can hold him like a baby and can rub his wings I can't believe the diffence it made taking him there. Sorry all I am excited and I got off the point but I really want to know if PINE is SAFE. My husband works a moulding company and I can get some pine from there if it is SAFE! And I can build some bird toys then.

Rex is a macaw?

Safe yes...
But ummm... it will be toothpicks in less than a week. Quite possibly less than a day!

My C2 loves pine. It is her absolute favorite. I usually put a few pieces in
a box and then put that in her cage and when I get home I could start a toothpick store!!! But she is happy and that's all that counts.
