This is six to eight days old I think I was banding.
 Ah - here is a just hatch  and another the next day.  look at the growth rate of just 36 hours from the first hatch to the second!

My hands are pretty small too. Note the band aid on the finger? from mama bird,lol. when they hatch they are about the size of a honey bee. You thing picking them up is a challenge??? Its even compounded by the fact that ONLY my hand can fit into the nest box so I have to go in blind and then get them to eat from a syringe,lol.
