Happy Day! Making Progress!

Two days in a row I saw my gcc and tiel preening each other! They have tolerated each other for about a year now, but I never saw them touch one another or pay any attention to each other at all except to chase away from their food dish. Chico walks right up to Rico and puts her head down and if he doesn't preen her crest, she moves a little closer to him and head butts him as if to say "hey, come on!" She won't reciprocate, but insists that he do all the work. It was so cute to finally see them interacting!

Rico and Odie, my parrotlet, have made progress too. Now Rico only tries to kill him once in a while instead every waking moment. As I type this, Rico just went into Odie's cage and is playing with his toys, and not bothering with Odie at all.

Another new behavior I've noticed since Odie came to live here, is that at sunset every day all 3 of my birds start calling and making lots of noise. The first time I heard this I came running thinking that something awful had happened, but they just do this now every evening at sunset. Love to hear them when they're happy.
