Which is a better bird? Green cheek conure or Quaker parrot?

I can't decide between a green cheek conure or a quaker parrot! Please help me decide. I am going to get him this cage:13221 HQ Flight Cage 32x21 - Presented by HQ Bird Cages

People told me it is big enough. I am also going to buy him 3 perches, a happy hut, zupreem pellet diet, plenty of toys, avian carrier, and much more. I will let him out for hours a day out of his cage and play with him for many hours. Please give me pros cons or whatever you would like to use to compare the two and tell me which i should choose!

LOL You'll get lots of different opinions on here with that question!

I own both and personally I prefer the spicy attitude, looks, and noise level of the green cheek conure. But a lot on here would probably disagree with me

I think the cage is okay if he/she will have lots of out time each day.

Good luck with your new baby!

depends on what "better" means to you..... i would spend some time reading up on general species descriptions with regards to character - i you can't decide, get both

I have two of those cages and they are really good. I have an ekkie in each, but they spend most of their time free flight around the house.

Better is up to you. I would research both species and more before deciding and also - check the laws in your state. Quakers are outlawed in some states!

OK, I also have both-and they are both 20 yrs old. Neither is particularly noisy but Shrek, the quaker, demands my attention more, is cuddly and is cage possessive with other people but not me. I can do whatever I want to him. He will step up for other people once he is out of his cage-and can see me. When I go away, he stays in his cage. Fiona, my Maroon bellied Conure, is more of a social butterfly and will step up for anyone and is friendly with everyone. She really is a smart bird and runs rings around all the others-also thinks she is the boss of the flock-and none of the others want to challenge her. At this point, I couldn't choose but remember they both live to be about 35 yrs so it's a big commitment.

I will vote for a GCC. But I am rather anti-quaker... so not a good person to ask.

Pineapple GCCs are SO pretty though!!!!!

I would get the Quaker. I just love them. They are so smart and so funny. My first bird, many years ago, was a Quaker. He could talk up a storm and just loved to cuddle. Never really had any experience wiht a GCC.
