A little irratated with Avitech.

I ordered a few things from Avitech on the 12th. I ordered AviGain, a pediPerch and a heat panel. My order totaled $124.35. Tuesday they called and verified my address and everything and let me know my order would take a week to get to me. The lady was very nice and polite.

I checked my order status this morning and was surprised to see that UPS had sent me a post card asking for directions. I called them and they asked me to come to them to pick up my package, over an hour and a half away. I told them no, that was not possible, plus I had paid for the package to be delivered to ME. They finally figured out my address was wrong. It was 123 Green Bird St when it should have been 123 Green TREE St (Not my real address but you get the idea).

The only thing I could think of was that Avitech somehow mis-entered my address or maybe didn't understand me when I gave it to them. I looked up their contact info and gave them a call. The woman that answered was very discourteous and a little rude. I was quite surprised, especially because the girl the week before had been so nice. The lady today had the whole "how is this my problem" attitude. She even said to me " I just can't understand what your problem is." And not in a nice manner. She said they would look into it but somehow I feel that they won't.

I'm not in any way bashing Avitech. I'm just very disappointed by their customer service this morning. I spent a lot of money there (to me anyway) and I don't appreciate being treated in this manner. Should I call them back this afternoon and speak to someone else? I don't believe they're always like this, the girl last week was SO nice! Maybe I caught this woman on a bad morning.

i say call and find someone higher up than she is
if you arent satisfied with that person, find their higher up
and so on and so forth

i have no tolerance for people who are discourteous when theyre getting paid to talk to me or provide me with a service
i dont care if ive only spent $1 with a business i get very indignant about the way im treated

you should totally call and complain to someone who matters

I might not be the best person to answer this but I would say call them back and ask to speak to a manager. I also have a temper and do not take being mistreated well at all. I work retail and I would do anything for a client to make them happy because I know that a happy customer is a repeat customer.

Now if I were you I would call them talk to the manager and let them know how you feel and how you were treated. Explain that you spent a lot of money especially in todays economy and that this is unacceptable behavior and that you will not be doing business with them again in the future. They may actually refund your shipping. I have had to call and yell at best buy and bank of america before because they have messed up things before. Do understand that no one is perfect and if the manager does at least offer a heart felt apology then I would let it go because your complaint will be noted and hopefully fixed in the future.

Yes, speak to a higher up.
I hate when people are rude over the phone!!
That is a lot of money to spend there, and I would be feeling the same way if it happened to me.

Avitech is usually spot on, so I'd chock this up to fate. However, I would rip a new one on the lil .... that you talked to.

I agree with the others. Avitech is a good company and I would imagine they don't want their customers mistreated. You may be able to prevent another customer from being mistreated and alert Avitech to a potential problem they have on the frontline of their dealings with the public. I would want to know if I were them.

Avitech has treated me very well. There is a lot to recommend them.

Even the best owners / employees can have a bad day. Customer service is often a thankless job.

Call back, don't bitch or yell, and don't take out your anger on someone who isn't directly responsible. If someone on their end made a mistake give them an opportunity to make it right. If they don't offer you some form of consideration, suggest that a discount on your next order would ease your frustration.

There are so many more important issues to worry about.

Good Luck

A great way to ensure good customer service:

Warmly greet the rep and ask their name! Say their name a good three times during the conversation. If a rep knows you can identify her... she is likely to be on her best behavior.

Also... please don't forget to get in touch with a manager to compliment someone... not just when you need to complain. The Supervisors get enough gripes... and you can really make the day (and possibly a raise) for a "worker bee"!

So funny thing... I called the wrong number. Boy, am I embarrassed! The people I spoke to, Vanessa and Janelle, corrected my address immediately and they both couldn't have been nicer! I'll get my package tomorrow and Janelle said to call her and let her know that all was well.

Next time I'll double check the number.
