Talking Toys toys toys toys and wasabi (pics)

the day before my surgery i moved the dude in the livingroom with everyone else so i could spend time with every one even though i couldnt get up (i know shame shame, i did take him to the vet though)

anyhow, i had made a bunch of toys on friday and saturday and saved them for sunday once everyone was settled

i strung a knotted rope between his cage and boogie and wasabi's cage and both dude and wasbi were shimmying back and forth across it

but i had to move it though since wasabi still tries to be bossy when im not standing right there

here are some favorites from the toys i made - i really like the nuts and bolts ball
and those big giant birdie bagels were only like $1 or so each and all i had to do was screw in a stainless eye bolt and viola, a swing - i think im going to drill some small holes along the sides so i can string doohickeys in there easier

and i had to include the wasabi photo...it came out SO GOOD
i think ill get a large print of it to frame and hang up in here :)

That is a great photo of Wasabi. All of my photos of my quaker come out blurry. EVERY time. It is so rewarding to see them playing with the mom made toys! They turned out very nice. Where did you get the nuts and bolts ball? Did you make it? That is really cool! Dude looks a bit more relaxed...

Me too and I think it is actually something I could make myself. Usually these do-it-yourself craft things are beyond me.

i bought the nuts and bolts from mother pluckin bird toys (Mother Pluckin' Bird Toys - Home of the ATOM) and i think those medium sized whiffle balls came from california bird nerds (they said theyre large but they are NOT lol)

the end pieces of the bolts pop off and you just screw em into the holes
dummy proof really :) lol

i bought a couple big bolts for chickie baby and she managed to twist the nut tight onto her toe while she was holding the bolt...she was not happy and hasnt touched them since

the big ones are really big
but the ones in the ball are small enough that chickie baby can tear them up so its only for the smaller birds
boogie and wasabi climb all over it yet i havent seen them twist any of the nuts yet

Those pictures are cute!

Everyone's birds are really cute but Wasabi just steals my heart

That birds face is just so sweet looking!

And seeing your pics of the Hahns makes me want one :)

Too cute!

I love the crazy bead toy! I want to make one of those!!!

You can make a crazy toy and what will the birds play with?????????

A piece of paper! Same with kids, you can buy all these toys and they play with pots and pans lol

It's almost like they know you went to a lot of trouble so they don't play with it! ha ha ........ little buggers
