Nothing really big as far as gender differences in Suns. If they're not in the same cage, you're fine and dandy. If they are, it's 50/50 as to whether the hen will choose to mate and lay eggs if there's no nest box. If they do mate and lay eggs, just remove the eggs when she lays them and toss them, and slip in dummy eggs in their place. The good part about the gold aratingas (gold caps/jendayas/suns) is that you'll get a majority of hens, and far less males - on average. So, you very well might luck out after all!

Not all hens will lay. Some go their entire lives and don't lay. But, all hens -can- lay, regardless of a mate.

Suns/Gold Caps have no breeding season. They'll breed all year long in our climate.

LMAO... My rescue tiel Baby was having a hard time adjusting when I got her so I got her what I thought was a Bert to keep her company. Well imagine my surprise when I discovered after having Bert surgically sexed that within minutes, he became a Bertie. Congratulations!
