How 2 make my sunnie like being handled
A very affectionate bird, only 13 wks old, surprisingly quiet, already obeys the "step up" command really well. He/she refuses to stay on my lap or let me stroke or scratch him, whilst he doesn't bite at all which is great Charlie really fights to get out of my hands, I've read conures like going on their back and having their tummies scratched etc but not Charlie, is there somethng I can do to make him more "cuddly" any training information will be greatly appreciated. Ian.

I have a sun. I've had her for about 18 months and only recently has she been letting me give her scratches without screaming at me. I don't think she'll even lay on her back though. Maybe in the years to come she will surprise me..

our GCC took AGEs to want to be touched. little by little my partner just started stroking him on his beak really gently and after a few weeks of that moved to the sie of his head and now he'll be scratched all over. my sun was 'cuddly' right from day one so there's not much i can offer you there. just give it time and be really patient. if you try to push his boundaries it won't build trust between you.
good luck!!
