Ideas for a safe bird fair trip?

So... we have a bird fair in Denver in two weeks I just have to go. I've heard that it's possible to bring home icky stuff from there and wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions on how to avoid or lessen the chances of this.... other than not going lol. Hubby actually got a day off so we can go so there's no stopping me now. Obviously anything coming home from there would undergo a strict quarantine, although I only plan on getting one new fid from there that I've been looking for for a while (it's all Geek's fault! ).

I'm really hoping there are more toys and cages and information there than birds....

Of course I am taking a very limited amount with me and leaving the checkbook and ATM card at home

Just wash your clothes and shoes when you get home and shower before you handle your babies and you will be fine.

Have fun!

Best bet to keep your birds safe:

Leave a pan of bleach water on your porch, and step in it with your shoes on before you enter the house. Take shoes off and leave them on the porch while the soles dry.

Strip, and wash your clothing in HOT water. If you wore white, you can add bleach to the water, which kills more "bugs" than water alone.

Head immediately for the shower and wash thoroughly, including your hair. Rinse well, dry, and put on fresh clothes and a different pair of shoes before visiting your birds.

Make sure you also disinfect any toys and stuff you buy. Setting them out in a sun will definetly help. Buy some Oxyfresh gel - mixed with water, it's been proven to kill alot of the bad birdy germs, while being perfectly safe for birds (you can even use it to wash dirty feathers!).

Thank you!

I don't plan on buying any toys there, just for the germ reason and well, none of the fids are hurting for toys LOL Mostly I just want to see what the bird fair is all about and there are lots of species (senegals, pois, mini macaws, hybrid macaws, parrotlets) that I haven't seen first hand yet and I hope to see them there.
