I knew I would do this, just not so soon. I went to the pet store today to buy a pleco for one of my fish tanks, and they didn't have any large enough, so as I walked out I went past the birds. Big mistake. I came home with two cute little parakeets! They are both green with yellow heads and blue-ish green tails, and they were hanging out together in the bin preening each other and giving kisses to each other, so I got them both. One has absolutely no bars on the front of her head at all, and her cere is brown and smooth, and the other one's cere seems to be turning blue, and he has some bars on his forehead, but fairly light. The pet store said they got them about a month ago.

So...I came home, took apart my 37 gallon tank and put all my fish in the 55 gallon (same type of fish, water, etc.), moved the 37 into the store room, took the old cage that used to be Chico's, and set it up for my new little keets! They have been sitting on their perches for hours now not doing anything, but I just played a video of halos's birds and they started chirping, now they are both on the bottom of the cage together.

I have to buy new toys...all of mine are too large for them I think.

I have been wanting a pair of budgies, and now I think my collection is complete...I certainly hope so!! Aww, now they are checking out their toys on the bottom of the cage and giving kisses!!

I can't wait til tomorrow when I come home from work so I can work with them a bit!!

I'm still searching for names.

I decided on Fred and Ethel, and here are their pics. I managed to get them to eat millet from my hand today, through the cage bars, and then got hold of them and talked sweetly and put them back. More tomorrow. Later I will be in my room with them, but now it's my time to be with my other 3. Wow, I can't believe I have 5 birds!! No More!!

What cuties! From the pic it looks like you've got two boys! Perhaps about 4 months old, give or take... young enough to have black eyes but old enough to have molted!

They're adorable! They look just like my little budgie, Peepers, that I had as a kid! Congratulations on Fred and Ethel! Now you're gonna have to get Lucy and Ricky! LOL!
