Awww, now I want a GCC (even more)

I'm birdsitting for a little GCC. His owner brought him over last night. Warned me that he nips a lot, and basically gave me the impression he was somewhat untame, very wary of strangers, and extremely nippy. I fully prepared myself for having problems handling him and getting the *$@ bitten out of me every time I tried to even just change his food and water and his cage.

I also expected Stewie to throw a hissy fit about yet another bird in the house and Mika just to ignore him.

So... Stewie seems fine (although I obviously don't give him an opportunity to stir trouble). Mika... well, I've never seen my girl that upset before. She screamed the entire time the GCC's owner was here during the handoff, basically until I put her to bed. Today she kept up with a big tantrum.

As for the GCC, Henry. I let him out of his cage and just thought I'd give him his space to hang out on his own, but as soon as I walked into the other room he came flying after me and landed on my shoulder. He's been snuggling into my ear or under my chin ever since. He's in my hair grinding his beak right now. Sooooooo cute.

I just needed to share - I now totally want a GCC of my own. (And no, there's no way I can add another bird to my flock. There's zero room for it.)

I just got one myself, and I haven't had the problems as of yet that everyone else say that GCCs are known for. Maybe he just hasn't settled in enough, lol.

GCC photos

Henry is so adorable. This morning he fell asleep in my hair. His owner is returning tomorrow to collect him. I'll sure miss this little guy.

Here's a photo:

I'm in the process of uploading more to my other Flickr account. (Please note - my photos are NOT licensed under a Creative Commons license, which means I do not give permission for anyone to copy or reuse these photos, no matter what your purpose. Thanks for understanding.)
