Me also Halo. I highly doubt this amazom was sick, she was perfect in every way..had a great appetite, good weight gains, very playful, she was talking at 12 wks of age. I would have gladly taken her back, had I been asked....

That's just....sad. :/ I've seen things like this happen on a couple different boards, too.

Kevin, I hope you find out what happened to Lizzie. :(

I had someone that sounds like this in a way, who wanted to buy a baby from me. She had several species of birds over a short period of time, each one finding a new home soon (like 1-2 weeks) after she had them. I refused her... but it's almost like this type of person thinks they want a specific species, and when the bird isn't up to their imaginary standard or idea of what the bird would be like, they sell it to someone else or give it away and try another.

NOT saying this is the current situation though.

Well, I'd like to stay out of it too but here I am getting all sad and upset because Flash had to send Lizzie back to the aviary and then all of a sudden the bird didn't get back and... well... I have to say I'm very impressed that Kevin cared enough to come here trying to get some answers.

And you're right Tina, it's none of our business what happened... but it is a sad situation!

It certainly is. I feel for Kevin, because even if the person who bought the baby from him told him, he isn't entirely able to believe it as truth at this point. It eats at your soul... raising and caring for that baby only to be taken in by someone. I do hope Kevin finds out something definite.

Let's face facts. People get chewed up around here if they are "less than perfect" bird owners. I can understand some not wanting to fess up the truth about that particular bird just not working for her.

I just can't stand the fabricated stories.

I just want to know if my baby is ok. I don't raise tons of birds, and each baby is very special to me and this just kills me to not know what happened to the bird. I know it was (is?) hers, she paid for her, but I'd still like to know....and the other birds too....does she really have the $$ to just go around buy expensive birds and then...does who-knows-what with them? Just doesn't make any sense to me. Also, I'd like to know if my birds are producing a fatal illness....

Kevin... if the eggs are fertile next year... give me a Mitred and I will make sure your parents are not passing along any flaws. Better yet, give me two, we want to be thorough... right? LOL

I should really know better than to click on links to aviaries but Kevin, you have some gorgeous babies there! Mexican Red Head Amazons are the bestest!

We can all hope that she at least contacts Kevin and lets him know what's going on.

Plus, can we really not understand a bird not working out? I mean if someone were to give that bird their all and they just weren't a match? Although I don't think Lizzie was there that long....

Define "ALL". Bet there are a lot of different opinions there.
