I'm only 20 now so I'm hoping that I outlive my fids. If not, they will stay with my boyfriend. He knows what they need to keep them happy and has agreed to let them to continue to live in the manner in which they have become accustomed.

Be careful if you decide to put your bird in your Will. The benefactor will indeed have to pay inheritance tax on the bird

Yes really. When my Mother passed on she had a Will but it was not executed as everything went to my Dad. Cookie Bird was specified in her Will. However, we saw an elder law attny to rewrite my Dad's Will and he suggested to leave the bird out because of an inheritance tax EVEN on a living animal I asked him how they figure out the value of the bird and he replied that they go by the current rate that a bird of that type would cost. Insane huh? I too was shocked.
