Rampings of a newbie

mmr. I am 100% with you. We discovered that Blue Throated Macaws cannot be imported to spain, no matter what the reason, yet between Fran and I, we would love to help the breed succeed. I'm a newbie at this, but me friend has been a bird lover all his life and he adores them - want's to help them, yet he can't because of red tape!

I think that works out about the same as here. Dunno about you, but the price tag becomes invaluable!

*deep breath* All mine are rescues, some had to be ransomed and some just came to us. Only King and Bangers were purchased in pet stores.

Diddle, Goffin Cockatoo - Free w/cage
Lilly, Goffin Cockatoo - $500 w/cage and playstand
Marti, CAG - $400 w/cage and playstand (which still has a $550 price tag on it LOL)
Alfie, MRHA - Free
Bebe, U2 - Free w/cage
Rudy, WFA - $200 w/cage (we insisted on paying due to the family having health issues even tho they just wanted us to take him)
Tuck Tuck, GCC - Free
Muldoon, Quaker - Free w/cage
Pedro, MHRA - Free w/cage
Minga, B&G Macaw - Free w/cage
Arapahoe, B&G Macaw - Free w/cage
Caliente, GW Macaw - Free w/cage
King, Tiel - $139
Bangers, Keet - $35

I think I got a pretty good deal

I think those are Scarlets, not Harlequins.

Newton, my Harlequin, was $1600 (weaned)
Elliot, my Scarlet, was $1600,00, however since he is a special-abled baby and the owners wanted him to have a good home, I got him for $900. They were ready to keep him themselves until I came along.
Of course, that doesn't include the initial cost of the cages, toys, food, vet bills, etc. LOL

I love how vets fees, cages toys, and playstands make what you initially paid for the bird look like nothing.
