Dr. Vanessa Rolfe graduated from VA-MD Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1991. From 1992 until July 2004 her practice in Salem VA, Avian & Exotic Veterinary Services, was also devoted to birds and exotic animals. In August 2004 she was invited to acquire The Bird Hospital from her esteemed colleague Dr. Greg Harrison who was retiring and moved to tropical Palm Beach County, FL.

Her approach has always been a holistic one, optimizing multiple aspects of an animals environment — nutritional, husbandry, animal and caretaker behaviors — to prevent problems or to resolve existing problems and to keep the pets not only healthy but happy for a long time.

We talked to his daughter last week, she took over the food part. He is living the good life in Florida...
She is going to try to get him on the call for 2009 season, we will see. I hope so.

Me too Jim. I sometimes think I do the call more for myself to learn than anything. I have not walked away from a call yet that I didn't pick up a tip or two.
