Angry and confused... mostly confused!

I am really upset right now.
So I didn't want to tell you guys until it was official, but I was in the process of adopting a harlequin macaw.
I found the add online for a nine month old male harley that these people were rehoming because they were moving.
I thought it was a scam, but I decided to see...

So I contacted them and went to go see him. He was great, and they had all his papers, including his hatch cert. and his breeder contact info.
I decided to get him, but I told his owners I would like to pick him up on friday since my aunt was in town for a couple days last week.
I decided to pick him up on thurs. since my mom and aunt went out for a while...

My problem is that I have called and e-mailed them a couple times since then and they haven't returned any of my messages!
I am really upset... and they were really happy that he was going to a home that had time for him and stuff.
I don't know what to do.
And it's not like I can just go over there and see what's up since they live three hours from me.

... People make me so sad sometimes!

I'm sorry this happened. It has to be terribly disappointing. I have no idea why the people are avoiding you but it's not fair or right. Try to put it behind you and begin a new search for a different Harlequin if that's your dream. Those people can delay it but they can't stop it.

I am not terribly devastated since I have only spent two hours with the bird.
But it was very disappointing!
I am mostly confused why someone would let me come and see the bird, tell me they liked me and I could adopt it, and then never contact me again.

I'm so sorry you are goint through that. It's really so unfair of them to at least not speak to you about what has happened. The only thing I can think of, is that someone else came along with money in habd and ready to take the bird immmediately. There are times on craigslist, when people SAY they will come back and then don't, so maybe they were leary?

Maybe something happened? I would keep trying until you reach them. You never know what can happen in the blink of an eye. AAaaaaannd.. it's a Jasper Macaw now, not a Harlequin! hehe

HAha My mistake... I almost adopted a Jasper macaw!
I will keep on trying to contact them, but I am not going to keep my hopes up.
Maybe it will work out maybe it won't.

I'm sorry to hear that! I know how upsetting something like that can be. I agree with Tina, keep trying until you get ahold of someone. I also agree that they probably gave the bird to the first "Jack" who came along with money in hand...but maybe not. Maybe something came up that took them away for a short time?

And look on the bright side.....Halo should have a nest full of Jaspers for you to pick from before too long! *snicker*
