Cockatiel or Parrotlet

Of these two birds which would you choose if you could only choose one, and why would that be your choice?

I had a yellow Cockatiel with orange cheeks when I was little...she was so cute and had a chirp that was loud but pretty. I've never had any experience with Parrotlets so I don't know how they are. My Cockatiel loved to be scratched and pet and held. I've heard good things about both! It just comes down to which you feel would be better for you :)

My tiel is friendly in a stand-offish sort of way. She's not mean, just not particularly cuddly.

My parrotlet, on the other hand, is the sweeeeeetest little thing I've ever seen! Besides looking as cute as can be, he loves to have his head scratched, he, loves to be with me, and today he crawled into my pocket because the blender noise scared him (making salads for my birdies). He's playful and just so sweet. I've had him only a few months, but he is dearest to my heart because of his lovey personality.

I've heard a lot of great things about tiels, but mine is just not that way.

Whatever you get, you will bond with, and I'm sure it will be a perfect match! Enjoy!

I agree with Chico's Mom. That is so cute, my cockatiel Alvie is as sweet as your parrotlet. Of course, so is my U2 Luey, my Hahns Macaw Shiloh, and my rose-breasted cockatoo Marcus. Anyway, COCKATIELS!!!

Having had neither, but knowing folks who have each, I think I would choose the cockatiel over the parrotlet. But I would choose a Pionus first! LOL

Parrotlets are precious! I need a bird that isn't dusty and my bird needs to be quiet, so this is my ideal bird.

She is funny, playful, quiet, loving and SO CUTE!
