Thumbs up I Got Bit- Tell me your worst bite story

I went to my friend's, Joy, house today for a playdate with our birds. My Hahns Macaw, Shiloh, and her Hahns Macaw, Amigo. Well, Amigo knows me very well and I went over to pet him. Apparently he was in a bad mood that day and really layed one into me. Ouch. But, I sucked it up and the birdies had a lot of fun together. Don't worry, Amigo. I still love you!

Ouch! That must've hurt quite a bit!
When I had my old greenwing macaw, Buddy, he bit my lip and actually split it open. The doctors glued it back together, but I have a lovely .5" scar on my lower lip. Then a week later he did it again, and I have another scar! That time I just glued it back together myself. :P The two scars form a "V" shape on my lip. It's awesome. ;)

Wow! Ow! You can't really blame the babies though, they don't mean to break us. It's just their way off warning us to back off. Ouch, Amigo didn't hurt me that bad. It drew blood, but I didn't have to get stitches. Wow.

i was petsitting a U2 very sweet birdy. she was cuddling and i was petting her for like the 2nd straight hour. when i accidentally rubbed a pin feather the wrong way. she bit down on my pinky finger...the tip...and broke the tip bone, ehhh not fun. i didn;t know it was broken until a few days later when it didn;t feel better. but we are still great buddies :D

Good idea for a thread. I bet there'll be some nasty stories! I'm pretty lucky myself. The worst I got was when I offered my finger to scritch an eclectus at a pet shop and she chomped down and grinded my finger. I didn't pull away because *I didn't want to scare her,* I twisted my finger slowly out of her grip. Now THAT is self control eh!? I still have the scar from that one. My next worst was an african grey at a pet shop who put his head near the bars for scritches, then bit me instead.

The worst I got from Ashling was when I was putting on her harness and she freaked out and tried to pull it off with her beak but instead tried to pull off my thumb. Barely bled though and she didn't do it on purpose.

The worst my sister got was when she put her face too close to Ashling so she bit her on the eyelid! Now that was a close call. And it was weird cause Ash never ever bites faces. My lorikeet hates my sister- she's the only person Ash'll bite aggressively.

Albert bit me on my pointer finger pretty hard a couple years ago, on the side. Broke my nail and it bruised pretty badly! He's protective of his cage and didn't want me trying to touch him, I guess. It healed pretty quickly though, but I had to trim my nail really short since it was cracked on the side!

You wouldn't say that if you met Xaf. Xaf will get happy when he hears someone cry, scream or gasp in pain. I mean -Happy-. He'll make the deep rrrrrurrrr sound of contentedness! If you do not react when he bites, he will bite again; this time harder, until you DO give a reaction. Then he lets go, and goes 'rrrurrrrrrr' and preens himself. He means to break people! LOL

We just let him land on us, say "Xaf, ouch!" and then he looks happy and doesn't bite. It works! LOL

Lol, Xaf sounds cute. Anyway, those are some pretty bad sounding bites. My birds have never bitten me hard *yet*.
