Sun & Eclectus (For Tx mommy)

I didn't want to hijack Young's thread so I just thought I'd start a new one to answer your question.

They actually do get along, like brothers. I got Skittles only about 3 months after I got Sunny, so they've been growing up together for the past year. I keep their cages side by side and they talk to each other all day. I don't usually let them get too close to each other outside the cage because I am still hesitant due to their size difference... I know that Sunny could easily remove a toe if he wanted to! Sunny's beak is so much bigger and I just worry that he could hurt Skittles by accident. But they have never shown any aggression toward each other. Sometimes when they are both out on their cage playtops, I will leave and come back to them right next to each other on the same cage or face to face. I allow them to play on and in each others cages, and on close terms sometimes as long as I'm around and keeping an eye on them. They have both proven to be trustworthy around each other and with time I will probably allow them to play together more often.
Here are some pics of them together.

I often babysit a sun conure and I have two ekkies. They all like each other. Apparently the sun conure used to have an ekkie as a best friend so they are the only birds he likes.

you have beautiful birds and they look so loving.

Oh thank you sorry I couldn't respond sooner I'm having to use my work computer since mine is down; have more time up here than at home anyhow. My husband is getting a Sun soon we will get him just in time for Christmas. He's sooo cute and adorable but he is definatly my Hubbies bird, and so Hubby told me to pick out my own bird. Rubix( the sun conure) seems to like everyone up at the bird center we are getting him from and the only bird I've started bonding to is a female eclectus. I'm just worried when as a barely feathered baby she's as big as he is. Rubix doesn't seem to mind the size of any bird he tried to play with a B&G mcaw.
