Tina beat me to the punch. I was also going to say the Hahns Macaw is worth a look. I love my little Dave. He's a good little talker but it is in a high, squeaky, Hahns macaw voice. They say they can be nippy. It is kind of true I suppose but with Dave it seems to happen because he is overexcited and he has never broken skin. Any parrot is going to bite.

Don't discount the Greys. I love my Bing. He's a Congo African Grey but the Timneh African Greys are a great bird too and it has been suggested that they might be a little less neurotic.

You are smart to be doing all of your looking and research so that your purchase isn't purely impulse (although I expect it will come sooner than later). It sounds like you found one really nice bird store where the birds are well cared for and loved. To me that's most of the battle. We don't have a lot of breeders where I am but I have a local bird store that is the best and really got matched with two great birds through them. Sometimes you meet a bird that just kind of picks you and you know it is right.

(Go back and get the Grey)
