Jodi:
You can throw sisal rope in the washer. I did that with my monkey vine that Chele macrame'd for me last year. Cleaned up nicely. I need to ask this, so please bear with me. Did you remember to vinegar wash the top wire? If not, you have a very hazzardous metal out there for the birds to mouth. All you really need to do is get about 10 gallons of vinegar and a big push broom and really scrub both the top and underside. Its the zinc that's added to prevent rust that is toxic to birds. That is the whitish looking residue on the fence wire. The acid in the vinegar removes it. Then you simply powerwash it away. In a normal season, this should be done about 2 times a year. This will eventually lead to rusty wire, so keep your eyes out for that. That's why I wanted to do mine in stainless steel wire, but just couldn't find any when I built my aviary. THE OUTLAW

They both look great! My husband and I put a smaller one together on our back deck for the 2 amazons to hang in. Since the deck is wood I used a piece of kitchen flooring for the bottom which can be rinsed easily (sorry no pic yet). The only thing is they have been in there 2x's and enjoy it but I'm very afraid of them flying off while I'm moving them, they are clipped. I have to put them in a carrier to take them in and out. How do you move your bird to yours? It's funny how quiet they are outside, just watching everything but once they're inside again they chatter it up!
