Unhappy Allergy/Mite related??? pregnant woman.

My pregnant friend just had to RUN to her house to wash her back and change shirts. (neighbors)

She was just sitting on my couch then she jumped up & said her back was burning- at first.... then she said it was more of a crawll-ee feeling all over her back. Terribly itchy. Her skin looked normal.

Once she washed it down it stopped... she put on a clean shirt and came back over & then SAT IN MY FLOOR . About 20min later she said she was feeling it again so she was gonna go take a shower.

We both agree the ONLY new thing in my home is the bird, we've had our cockatiel for maybe 2 weeks.. I use vinegar for most all of my cleaning & ALL Free & Clear for my wash. He DOES perch on the couch.

So--what do you think, is she allergic to the bird? or is this a symptom of pregnacy?
I know allergies can come and go... and so does she, she used to have a keet & had no problems.

And since I searched the board for "itchy" I saw Mites mentioned.... how do I check for mites? I got itchy reading that!

Appreciate any help here... I don't know what I'll do if she is so allergic to the bird that she cannot even be in my home comfterbally.

I Think she is just being preggers.
Birds don't cause any harm to people who are pregnant.
I asked TWO vets, a doctor, and a nurse!

(My sister was preggy)

yeah, I would say its in her head, and NOT the bird. Its not common for a bird who is indoors to have mites.
