Small bird owners if you could...

If you could reccommend a small bird that is active, toy loving, and gentle (I know they can all have thier moments)but generally known as a gentle species. what would you recommend?

Here are commonly found ones:

Hahn's Macaw (can become nippy as an adult)

Sun Conure and Jendaya (they can be shrill and loud though)

Green-cheeked Conure (gentle, but can be a bit nippy)

Senegal and Meyers (Can be nippy and aggressive too though)

A Director of a large rescue told me he recommends cockatiels. They are sweet, very active and every bit a "Large bird" in a compact body.

Cockatiels. My tiels LOVE toys (shredder ones especially!), and are really gentle too. I would recommend a female, because they seem a little nicer than the males (males tend to like to bluff and bite at you).

A lot of other small birds tend to be nippy.

Have you ever had problems with cronic egg laying? We had the most beautiful female Cockatiel and probably the sweetest bird I have ever experienced and she became an egg layer, nothing would stop her. I would have another female cockatiel in an instant if I knew what to do for the egg laying. I would love to find another bird with her personality.
