This just makes me sad

I just don't understand some people.

Beautifull blue bird with cage in need of a nice home

This poor budgie has NO toys--and the guy doesn't even know it's a budgie. He lists it as a "blue bird" for sale. Jeepers. I am currently trying to convince my boyfriend that we should rescue this poor little bird.

Unfortunately, there a lot of ads like that one out there. It is sad...at least he is trying to find the little guy a home despite the fact that the cage is too small, with no toys...unless, it is just a temporary house.
At least it's better than dumping them a parking lot or letting them out the window.
Either way, I know....you wish there was more you could do..but I don't live in Halifax.

The only thing you can do is either adopt the bird or try to educate the owner..

I can no longer bring myself to look at these ads (we get just as many sad ones here in the UK ) as they make me feel so helpless.

The cage looks brand new, could be many many options as to why there are no toys...

They bought the bird and realized quickly it's not the bird for them

Shosh is right... :

They had him/her in a different cage, have another bird that took over the cage and bought this beauty a new one to re-home him/her in

Could hardly ever be in a cage and only sleeps in there

there's no way to know without asking...

I've seen worse than that

Oh, I agree. I don't know the situation, but the only thing I can go on is that I see is a picture of a budgie with no toys and a small cage. I've seen much, much worse too, unfortunately. It just breaks my heart to see birds (big and small) constantly being rehomed. I just wish I had the space and money to bring them all into my home...

Maybe you can get him and rehome him to a better home that you pick out yourself. There are a lot of places like old age homes that keep budgies in nice cages and they get lots of attention from the residents.

I hate it too! And maybe they took the toys out to post it because they want the toys for another bird? Annoying when people aren't educated for sure!
