I am so jealous. I love Greenwings. If I ever get a large bird that would be my first pick. Congratulations. Somehow I think Cola will quickly recognize how good her life now is and the connection you have made will become even stronger. I am very happy for both of you.

The people I got her from, had her about 6 years. They loved her and they were good to her. Things happen in life and they were no longer able to keep her. He had to leave the room when we took her. It was hard for him. They got her on a good diet and socialized her. I think they did a pretty good job.

She originally came from a place that had over 1200 macaws. The lady that owned them died and the husband tried to keep up, but was unable. She was in a very small cage, plucked, and on a seed only diet. Some of the birds have fatty liver disease from their poor care. She does not. She has been Vet checked and recently groomed.

That is basically all I know. I did find out some of her likes and dislikes. What certain postures indicate, ect. It is going to be a learning experience for me. She is way different than a Too. Maxie says she is a pretty birdie.

That beak is HUGE! I was amazed it kind of glows when a light is behind it.

Last night when she was on the playstand, she "urped" for me 2 times while I was talking to her. She talks, but I have not heard her say much yet. We are going kind of slow, I don't want to stress her any more than she is. She was throwing her head to one side, like she was looking across her shoulder and back. I don't know what that means. I gotta make a phone call and ask. It seemed to be nerves to me.

Whiteboy already broke the walls in. Good thing barn wood is easy to replace around here.

I was soooo thankful that she stepped up for me when we got home. That was the first time I held her. She earned time on the play gym for being good. Today......might be a different story. Maybe not though.

Congratulations...a pretty GW!

Don't worry about that beak, it may be big but it will never do as much damage or cause as much pain as a cockatoo. So you have nothing to worry about....enjoy her
