pooping outside cage

I think Tookie thinks that when I take him out of the cage he supposed to poop!!
He does it every single time! In the mornings I wont take him out until he done his morning thing Sometimes he waits quiet a while. If I get impatient and take him out before as soon as he comes outs he poops!!
Im not sure how to let him know that I dont want to be pooped on.
Sometimes before he poops (he usually gives it away with a tail wiggle) i quickly put him back in his cage in hopes that when he poops in his cage i can make a big fuss about it but everytime ive tried this he doesnt poop in the cage! Now i know hes got to go because he did his tail wiggle but after waiting a few minites I get bored and either leave him in his cage or take him back out where he poops on me!
Any suggestions??

I wish I could help. But we got lucky.
Bob only poops in his cage or around it while standing on it or the door.
He won't poop on the furniture either, he'll back up till his hind end is hanging off and poop on the floor. Thank god we don't have carpet.

Mine did a big, nasty, first morning poo on me, so I can relate! lol! I'm new to the larger parrots. I'll be lurking here to learn more. Don't want to have the monster poop on me again tomorrow!

You're lucky actually! Use that to your advantage for training. Since you know when he's going to poop, have a reward ready and give a command (we use GOOD POOPIE!) whenever he does it. Soon (hopefully) he'll associate pooping with the reward and command and go when you want him to. We hold him over a plastic mat and my friend holds his U2 over a trash can.

All of my GCC's and Suns do the same thing. They seem to have their BIG poop first thing in the morning, a few minutes after they wake up. I just have them step up and put them on the floor, either on a towel or newspaper and say "poop". It takes a few minutes... they walk backwards, forwards, wiggle their tails, it's really quite cute, but they do squirt, lol. Then turn their heads and look at it, and want to step up.

They can be trained and it's been super easy with all of my conures.

Parvathi did that to me again today!! I waited a full hour for her to poop this morning, and when she didn't, I took her out and stood her on the back of a chair with an old towel under her to catch anything. Sure enough, within 1 minute of being there she did her nasty first morning poo. I'll have to work on the training. Since I know when she will do it, I just have to click and say poop and give a treat.

Birds do not like to poop in their cage. The reason for this is and why the morning dump is massive is because in the wild if they poop while on their roost predators will know they are there and eat them.

Try having a poop spot for them. I take mine to the play gym as soon as the cage is opened and had told them to poop. My greys now will actually poop on command since they learned what I wanted from them and provide a different spot then their roost aka cage.

I also have the floor under the cages and a couple feet around them covered with plastic floor runner to protect my carpeting. Hope this helps.
